Rev. Dr. David A. Cobb Jr.

About our Pastor

Reverend Dr. David A. Cobb Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 13, and he is the son of David Cobb Sr. and Barbara Shaw.  He has one sister, Kenisha Kirkdoll (Eulas) and one brother, Quevin Cobb. Pastor Cobb is a loving father and proud parent of two children David (19) and Tiffany (15).  Pastor Cobb repented of his sins and placed his faith in Jesus Christ on August 5, 1985 at Little Zion Baptist Church.  

Pastor Cobb was licensed on November 8, 1992 at Little Zion Baptist Church, and he was ordained in November 20, 1994 at Little Zion Baptist Church.

Pastor Cobb received his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia in 1996, his Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary in 2000, his Doctor of Ministry at Luther Rice Seminary in August of 2004, and four Units of Clinical Pastoral Education from the Cleveland Clinic in December of 2020.

Pastor Cobb was the Dean of Students at Luther Rice Seminary, and he also served as Executive Pastor on the Elder Board of Salem Bible Church where Jasper Williams Jr. is the Senior Pastor & Joseph L. Williams is the Pastor.

On March 4, 2007, he began serving as the resident theologian at Emanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio and became the president and founder of the Member 2 Minister Ministries. Under his leadership many creative ministries, events, conferences, and community initiatives have been established: EBC Ministers in Training (MIT) Program, Ministers-On-Call, On-line Giving, Drive-In & Virtual Worship Services, EBC Prayer Time along with Noonday Bible Study, EBC Website, EBC YouTube Channel, SOS Summer Camp at Emmanuel, AWANA, EBC Deaf Revival, Soup 4 the Soul, Prescriptions for Daily Living Devotionals, Emmanuel Community Help Fair (CARE Day), Armed and Awake Revival, Church-Wide Boot Camp, First-look, Rededication & Consecration Month and the Annual Youth Explosion.  

Pastor Cobb was a professor and board member of the North Metro Bible Institute, and he is currently the Chairman for the Evangelism & Discipleship Division of the Cleveland Baptist Association, Academic Dean at the Ohio Leadership Academy, Vice-President of the United Pastors in Mission, a member of NAACP, Greater Cleveland Baptist Pastors Council, Cleveland Ministers Conference, Cleveland Clergy Alliance and a board member of the Friendly Inn, Cleveland MOETEP and Strengthening Our Students.

Pastor Cobb was recognized by Kaleidoscope Magazine in 2009 as one of the New Influential Pastors of Cleveland, and he was inducted into the 2010 40/40 Club of Greater Cleveland. In 2014, Pastor Cobb served on the Attorney General's Advisory Group on Law Enforcement Training Issues. In 2018, Pastor Cobb received the Community Partner Award from Bolton Elementary School, and in 2019 Pastor Cobb received the Wanda J. Green and Ollie Scott Award for Exceptional and Appreciated Service.

Outside of his church activities and responsibilities, Pastor Cobb is a writer, motivational speaker, conference facilitator, baseball coach, and National Facilitator and Advisor for PLACE Ministries (an organization that helps people find their place in ministry and in life.

Pastor Cobb has been spreading God’s word around these United States as well as the Island of Saint Kitts and the country of Jamaica.  Pastor Cobb, favorite scripture is Ephesians 2:8-10 because it reminds him that he works because he is saved and not to get saved.
